Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical maintenance in a field setting.

You will use diagnostic tools, perform repairs, and ensure safety and reliability across client sites. A valid driver's license is required; Class A/B CDL is a plus, with a take-home truck as part of the field role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered heavy‑duty work trucks or equipment.
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and PTO-driven systems.
• Diesel engine diagnostic and repair experience, including mechanical troubleshooting and use of diagnostic tools.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience, with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems and components.
• Strong mechanical and chassis/drivetrain experience, including brakes, suspension, steering, and related components.
• Welding experience (MIG and/or stick preferred).
• Own professional tools and the ability to confidently use them for diagnostics and repairs.
• Valid driver’s license required; Class A or B CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered heavy-duty work trucks or equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools.
• Maintain tools and keep up-to-date with safety protocols.
• Travel to client sites and service locations as required.
