Job summary

Hirschbach is seeking Diesel Mechanics at our Bedford, PA shop. You will diagnose and repair Freightliner trucks along with Kenworth and Internationals, perform preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting, and document repairs with attention to warranty details.

You’ll follow safety and quality standards, communicate with drivers and management, and engage in ongoing training with Diesel technology tools to stay sharp in a dynamic fleet environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of fleet maintenance experience or recent tech school graduate.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with diesel diagnostics and preventive maintenance helpful.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles (Freightliner, Kenworth, International).
• Perform preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, air brakes, suspension and steering.
• Record repairs, parts usage, and warranty details accurately.
• Follow safety and quality standards in every job.
• Communicate clearly with drivers and fleet management.
• Stay updated with diesel technology training and tools.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair our fleet — primarily Freightliner trucks, plus Kenworth and Internationals
• Perform preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, air brakes, suspension & steering, after-treatment service, charging systems, and A/C
• Accurately record repairs, parts use, and warranty details
• Follow safety and quality standards in every job
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers and fleet management
• Stay sharp with ongoing training in the latest diesel technology (Diamond Logic Builder, Cummins Insite, Detroit Diagnostic Link, Bendix Acom, Wabco Toolbox, etc.)
• Collaborate with teammates to solve tough problems
• And take on other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

You'll excel here if you bring:

Required

• 1-2+ years' experience in fleet maintenance or recent tech school graduate
• Valid driver's license

Strongly Preferred

• Certifications (EPA 609, Cummins, Navistar, Daimler)
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, DTNA, Bendix, etc.)
• Class 8 truck repair experience (electronics, PMs, brakes, suspension)

Nice to Have

• CDL A or B
