As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II), you'll perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve and challenge yourself, with potential to advance to higher-level Tech roles in our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key expectation for all team members.

• Second Shift position: Monday - Thursday 2 pm – 12:30 pm

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and timely.
• Demonstrate complex equipment to customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for United Rentals' policies and procedures.
