Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in New Orleans, LA to maintain our fleet of Class 8 trucks and trailers. This full-time role covers preventative maintenance and repairs, with potential forklift work depending on location.

Work Monday–Friday with various shifts and earn up to $37.60 per hour. Benefits include paid vacation after 90 days and access to employee resorts; tools and physical requirements apply, including lifting 50 lbs and owning your own tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Able to perform major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Own tools required.
• 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris work orders.
• Class A CDL holder.
• Experience driving Class 8 trucks.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment.
• Handle minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Maintain equipment components and assist with welding where location permits.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our New Orleans, LA Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
• Must be able to handle major repairs
• Experience with AC and Electrical
• Have the ability to lift 50lbs
• Must have own tools

Preferred

• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
• Experience using Cetaris used for work orders
• Class A CDL holder
