Job summary

National Tank Services, part of the Trimac Family of Companies, seeks a shop technician to assist with preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers, move units in and out of the shop, and open repair orders while tracking parts.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–2:30 pm, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance with DOT rules, and quality workmanship. A valid driver’s license, basic hand tools, and ability to read service manuals are required; benefits include health coverage and more.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to provide own basic hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend service manuals.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the shop to repair and maintain company equipment.
• A basic knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance.
• Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and out-of-service parameters for tractors, trailers, and accessorial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required.
• Move trucks in and out of the shop for maintenance.
• Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order.
• Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards.
• Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
• Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, and submits reports indicating the condition of equipment.
• Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security policies.

• $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
