Job Description

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a reputable company based in Largo, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. This position offers opportunities for growth in the field of diesel mechanics.

Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and other mechanical and electrical systems in trucks, buses, and diesel-powered vehicles.
2. Perform preventive and routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.
3. Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine necessary repairs.
4. Utilize hand tools, diagnostic instruments, diesel-specific tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
5. Communicate with the Shop Manager and support team for approvals, purchase orders, and repair notes.
6. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
7. Identify parts needed for repairs and coordinate with the Parts Department.
8. Adhere to safety procedures and practices.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
3. Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
4. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
5. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently.
6. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
