Pay: $25.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience
If you're an experienced diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, automotive technician, or field service technician looking for something more interesting than working on the same equipment day after day, this might be your next move.
We're looking for a Mobile Fire Truck Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire trucks and emergency vehicles throughout Northwest/Indianapolis, Indiana.
And here's the best part: you won't be stuck in a shop all day.
This is a highly mobile, field-based position. You'll travel to fire departments throughout your assigned territory and perform service work at the fire department's facility, rather than reporting to one fixed office or service location each day. Candidates located within approximately 60 miles of Lafayette, Indiana are ideally positioned for the territory.
Fire trucks are specialized pieces of equipment, which means you'll get your hands on much more than a standard diesel engine.
You'll diagnose, maintain, and repair systems including:
Strong knowledge of diesel, automotive, truck, or heavy-duty chassis systems is important, but this position performs minimal major chassis repair.
Experience working specifically on fire trucks is great-but experience as a diesel mechanic, truck mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, automotive technician, mobile mechanic, or field service technician can provide an excellent foundation for this role.
Mobile doesn't mean you're on your own. You'll be supported by a complete service operation, including a Service Manager, Service Writers, and Parts Department to help you get the job done.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and understands why quality matters.
These aren't ordinary trucks. They're emergency vehicles—and when they're needed, they need to work.
Fire trucks are CLEAN. Fire houses are CLEAN. And FIRE TRUCKS ARE FUN.
If you're ready to take your mechanical skills out of the same old shop and work on some of the coolest vehicles on the road, join our team.
