Job summary

Hendrickson Fire Rescue in New Rochelle, NY is seeking experienced Level A and B Diesel Technicians to repair and maintain emergency vehicles. Join a family-owned operation that values your skills and work‑life balance.

You will diagnose diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, perform tire service, alignments, and electrical diagnostics, using schematics and manuals. We offer a pay plan with bonuses and a five‑day work week, with holiday pay and PTO to support your life

Qualifications

• 3+ years in professional diesel repair
• Experience with emergency vehicles preferred
• Ability to read schematics and manuals

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate would have 3+ years under their belt working in a professional diesel repair business. This role offers the opportunity to work on specialized emergency vehicles, perform critical repairs, and develop your skills through ongoing training.

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and other heavy-duty systems on emergency vehicles
• Conduct vehicle maintenance including tire service, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, and electrical diagnostics
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
• Fabricate or modify parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques as needed
• Follow safety protocols diligently while performing repairs and maintenance tasks
• Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately in service records
