Job summary

Hendrickson Fire Rescue in Congers, NY seeks experienced Diesel Mechanics (Level A & B) to service emergency vehicles and join a family-owned team focused on work-life balance.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, plus preventive maintenance and documentation of service activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional diesel repair experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with heavy-duty truck, fleet, or emergency vehicle repair is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems on emergency vehicles
• Perform repairs on transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using schematics and technical manuals
• Perform tire services, wheel alignments, shocks, struts, and other fleet maintenance tasks
• Fabricate or modify parts using welding equipment, power tools, and hand tools when needed
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and shop standards
