Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Company in Grifton, NC is seeking experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanics for our lumber mill. You will perform service, preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repair of mobile equipment to support efficient production.

Requirements include 2+ years of heavy mechanical repair or equivalent, ability to read schematics, a valid driver's license, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work various shifts, including overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years heavy mechanical repair experience, or education/work experience equivalent.
• Experience reading and interpreting schematics and parts breakdown.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds and work in heat exposure as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repair/maintain mobile equipment and vehicles for lumber facility.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel/gas engines, air brake equipment, running gear and hydraulics.
• Fabricate, cut, shape, and finish operations using various materials to replace parts.
• Fabricate replacement parts and modify equipment as needed.
• Perform PMs on forklifts, front-end loaders, and other equipment.

Weyerhaeuser is currently recruiting for experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanics at the Grifton, NC Lumber Mill.

Key Functions:

• Perform service/preventative maintenance, run inspections, diagnostics tests, and repair/maintain mobile equipment and vehicles for lumber manufacturing facility.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions in diesel/gas engines, air brake equipment, running gear and hydraulics.
• Rivet, bolt, glue, braze or weld to fabricate, modify or design replacement parts for equipment.
• Fabricate, cut, shape, and perform finish operations using various types of materials.
• Perform periodicservice / PMs on forklifts, front-end loaders, log moving equipment, pick-ups, etc.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record, which must be maintained
• Minimum 2 years heavy mechanical repair experience, or education/work experience equivalent
• Experience reading and interpreting schematics and parts breakdown
• Basic computer skills, Ability to complete required paperwork
• Ability to perform essential job functions, such as lifting to 50 pounds occasionally; stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, and climbing; and exposure to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basis
• Proven ability to work under limited supervision
• Able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed The following qualifications are desired:
• Two years diesel mechanic experience
• Completion of a mechanical vocational or trade school program
