The D.A. Collins family of companies has brought safety, quality, and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 75 years. We are seeking a reliable individual for a full-time position as a Diesel Mechanic at our state-of-the-art shop in Wilton, NY.

Job functions include but are not limited to:

• Perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, stretching, walking, climbing, and bending under potentially adverse field conditions. Be able to perform visual tasks like backup spotting and react to backup alarms, per safety protocol.
• Knowledge of fuel injection systems, diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, transmission, and brakes.
• Willingness to work overtime, occasional Saturday day-shifts, and be on call as required.
• Flexibility and ability to follow orders independently or in a group setting.
• Adherence to safety rules and regulations is mandatory.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years' experience or a trade school degree in diesel, trucking, heavy equipment mechanics/technology.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Own tools required.
• Must pass pre-hire drug screening (Drug Free Employer).
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time.
• Crane Inspection license or willingness to obtain one.

Salary Range:

Base salary for Diesel Mechanic: $33,600 - $87,500. Actual compensation varies based on experience, education, certifications, market conditions, and other factors.
