Job summary

GFL Industries in Chester, VA is seeking a diesel truck mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain company-owned or leased heavy‑duty trucks and equipment. Starting pay is $30–$40 per hour with overtime after 40 hours, and shift is 1:45 PM–12:00 AM, Monday to Friday.

Benefits include 15 days PTO, monthly tool allowance, annual boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, and 401(k) after 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $30-$40/hrMore pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 145pm-12am M-F. Overtime after 40hrs worked.
