Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Chester, VA seeks a skilled heavy-duty diesel technician to safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain company trucks and equipment to keep the fleet performing.

Starting pay is $30-$40 per hour with overtime after 40 hours and a 4am–2pm Monday–Friday shift. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, and a 401(k) after six months.

• Experience maintaining diesel refuse trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely Starting Pay: $30-$40/hr More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level. Shift: 4am-2pm M-F. Overtime after 40hrs worked.
