GFL Industries in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our waste and recycling fleet. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs on refuse trucks to ensure safe and reliable operations.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year as a diesel technician, own basic tools, a valid driver's license, and strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brakes and electrical systems. Overtime after 40 hours and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Formación

• 1 year minimum experience as a diesel technician/mechanic.
• Own a personal set of basic mechanics tools.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brakes, diesel engines and electrical troubleshooting.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic/air brake systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues using diagnostic software and tools.
• Repair and maintain waste equipment (compressors, hydraulic cylinders, automated arms, lift systems).
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure DOT and company standards compliance.
• Maintain clean and accurate work orders and fleet maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to OSHA and DOT safety protocols.

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Location: W9724 State Rd 35 Hager City WIPay Rate: $26-$35/hr. More pay available based on experience, certifications, and skill level.Hours / Shift: 12pm-8pm M-F. Immediate Overtime after 40hrs worked.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our waste and recycling fleet. In this role, you will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and major repairs on refuse trucks (rear loaders, side loaders, front loaders, and roll-offs) to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic/air brake systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using diagnostic software and tools.
• Repair and maintain specialized waste equipment (compressors, hydraulic cylinders, automated arms, and lift systems).
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Maintain clean and accurate work orders and fleet maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to all OSHA and DOT safety protocols.
