We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to joinour team. This role involves the maintenance and repair of departmental vehicles and equipment, as well as oversight of the garage.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on gasoline and diesel engines, including:
• Brake and suspension systems
• Electrical systems
• Clutch replacements
• Operate a preventive maintenance program, including maintaining detailed service records for all vehicles and equipment.
• Repair and service power equipment and tools such as compressors, jackhammers, and mowers.
• Order parts
• Maintain records of repairs
• Assist in drafting vehicle and equipment specifications
• Participate in seasonal operations:
• Operate vehicles for snow removal, sanding, and plowing
• Respond to emergency highway situations
• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with additional vocational or technical training in mechanics.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in gas and diesel engine repair (or equivalent education/experience combination).
• Demonstrated proficiency in:
• Diagnosing mechanical issues
• Performing vehicle and equipment repairs
• Using mechanic’s tools and diagnostic equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a valid CDL Class B license with airbrake endorsement
• Hoisting license for operating heavy machinery
