Job summary

Transdev in San Diego, CA is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead the diesel technician team within its PARA group. The role focuses on supervising maintenance work, diagnosing complex diesel issues, and ensuring timely results.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years as a diesel technician, strong leadership, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. DOT compliance and travel <10% are required. Full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel technician.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance and repair activities while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Coach and monitor members of the work team.
• Other duties as required.
• Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent): <10%
