Job summary

Great Basin College in Elko, Nevada seeks an experienced Diesel Technology Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education team. You will deliver hands-on instruction across diesel technology, heavy equipment repair, diagnostics, and emerging industry practices, combining theory with real-world training.

The role involves collaboration with industry partners, mentoring students, updating curriculum to current standards, and serving on advisory boards.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited or certified Diesel Technology program.
Associate degree or higher preferred.
Minimum five years in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance, mining equipment diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Teach lecture, lab, and hands-on coursework in diesel technology and heavy equipment repair.
Prepare and deliver engaging in-person, hybrid, evening, and/or distance courses as needed.
Advise and mentor students in Career and Technical Education programs.
Develop, revise, and maintain curriculum aligned with current industry standards.
Collaborate with industry partners and participate in Diesel Advisory Board meetings.
Participate in faculty governance, committee assignments, and college initiatives.
Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain technical expertise.
Travel throughout the state as needed.
