Job summary
Republic Services in Billings, MT is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment on a single fleet of refuse trucks. Under supervision, you will service chassis, bodies, brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, and drive train to keep our routes running.
We value safety, offer competitive wages and benefits, and provide opportunities for training in new technologies. A CDL is a plus, ASE certifications are welcome, and valid driver's license is required.
Qualifications
- Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
- Understand work order labor time standards.
- 3–5 years in a technician role with gasoline and diesel equipment repair or automotive school graduation in next 3 months.
- ASE certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Repair chassis components and refuse bodies with related systems.
- Service air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Perform light engine repair and maintenance.
- Maintain suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
- Provide safe road service when needed to ensure equipment is operational.
- Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and diagnostics.
- Complete required company training programs.
- Assist with welding and fabrication as needed.
