Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, including aerial platforms, pumps, HVAC systems, and heavy equipment. You will work with a safety‑minded team in a fast‑paced environment, with opportunities for skill growth and advancement.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 1–3 years of diesel/heavy equipment experience, and knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems. A bilingual ability may be required by location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade training a plus.
• 1–3 years of mechanic experience with diesel or heavy equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Work on a variety of makes and models including generators, pumps, HVAC or oil/gas equipment.
• Follow safety procedures to minimize downtime and accidents.
• Maintain tools and document service work as required.
