Job summary

Action Supply is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join the maintenance team in Seaville, NJ. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment, diesel trucks, and support vehicles to keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic/electrical systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years repairing heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, drivetrains, and small engine repair.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs efficiently with limited supervision.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on heavy equipment, diesel trucks, trailers, and small engine equipment.
• Remove, repair, replace, and rebuild major mechanical components as needed.
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Complete DOT annual inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal and state safety requirements.
• Emergency field repairs at customer jobsites or company locations.
• Inspect equipment for safety, reliability, and proper operation before returning to service.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Communicate repair status and equipment needs with supervisors and drivers.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
