Job summary

Road Safety Systems in Folsom, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy construction and roadway safety equipment. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or similar machinery.
• Strong diagnostic skills with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
• Welding and basic fabrication experience.
• Ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL if needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and specialized construction equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Diagnose equipment failures and determine root causes of issues.
• Perform welding and light fabrication for repairs and modifications.
• Respond to breakdowns and complete repairs quickly to minimize downtime.
• Complete service records, inspections, and work orders.
• Work with operations and field teams to keep equipment ready for projects.
• Safely operate forklifts and other shop equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Provide occasional field support when needed.
