The State of South Carolina is seeking a skilled vehicle and equipment maintenance technician under general supervision. You will repair and maintain a fleet of agency vehicles and heavy equipment, inspect diesel-powered machines, and train inmate workers in automotive repair techniques.

You will also provide after-hours on-call vehicle recovery and assist in inventory management of tools and supplies at the maintenance facility.

Competenze

• High school diploma with five years of extensive experience in repair & maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Must obtain commercial driver's license (CDL) within six months of employment.
• Must obtain Class A CDL with P-endorsement within six months of employment.

Mansioni

• Perform repair and maintenance service for the agency's vehicle and equipment fleet, inspect gasoline powered vehicles and equipment to assess repair needs.
• Supervise inmate workers and provide hands-on training in automotive repair.
• Perform after-hours vehicle recovery services on an on-call basis.
• Assist in maintaining tool, material, equipment and supply inventories at the vehicle maintenance facility.
