Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee within the Department of Transportation. You will work hands-on with trucks, construction equipment, and vehicles, learning maintenance and repair skills under skilled professionals.

The role offers a structured training program covering diagnostics, inspections, and repairs, with emphasis on safety and proper recordkeeping.

Competenze

• Two years as a Tradesman Helper in automotive field or equivalent.
• Post-high school diesel technology training from an accredited school or college.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.

Mansioni

• Assist with repairing and overhauling cars, trucks, and heavy equipment while learning to replace and repair components.
• Support routine maintenance activities to keep vehicles and equipment safe and efficient.
• Identify equipment issues using diagnostic tools and help determine repair methods and needed parts.
• Participate in safety and emissions inspections and document compliance.
