The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation in York County is seeking a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee. You will gain hands-on experience servicing trucks, construction equipment, and other vehicles while learning from skilled professionals to build a solid career in maintenance and repair.

This structured training program covers vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs.

Competenze

Two years as a Tradesman Helper in automotive field or
Post-high school diesel technology curriculum from an accredited trade/technical school
Equivalent combination of experience and training

Mansioni

Assist with repairing and overhauling cars, trucks, and heavy equipment while learning to replace and repair mechanical components
Support routine maintenance activities that help keep vehicles and equipment operating safely and efficiently
Identify equipment issues using diagnostic tools and help determine proper repair methods and needed parts
Participate in safety and emissions inspections, complete related records, and help verify compliance with requirements
Maintain a clean work area, follow safety procedures, use protective equipment, and help reduce workplace hazards
Complete equipment records, document findings, and communicate maintenance information through written and oral reports
