Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic/Journeyman for Vehicle Maintenance to diagnose and repair district vehicles and ensure safe operating condition. The role requires diesel experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL with endorsements.

Qualifications

• Five years of mechanical work with at least three years in diesel engines.
• Successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship and/or proof of equivalent experience.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean driving record; able to obtain Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair district vehicles using computer software.
• Perform engine, transmission, and minor repairs on buses, cars, vans, and trucks.
• Inspect vehicles for safety conformance and compliance and document work.
