Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Nashville is looking for a Diesel Service Technician to service and repair our customers' fleet and maintain exceptional customer service. This role demands hands-on work to overhaul gas or diesel engines, install major components, and ensure safety and quality through thorough inspections.

You will read job orders, perform maintenance, and collaborate with customers while maintaining a focus on efficiency and long-term trust.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license.
• CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS preferred but not required.
• ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Maintenance, inspection, and part removal.
• Installation with manuals; report writing; disassembly and reconditioning.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, and major components.
• Assess malfunction by reading job orders and listening to the vehicle.
• Check safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate and test repaired vehicles for conformance.
• Record warranty parts and returns.
• Attend training and keep up with bulletins.
• Develop relationships with customers to boost satisfaction.
