Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to provide service to customers, perform repairs on trucks and engines, and read job orders to plan work procedures. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

You will attend training, keep up with factory bulletins, and build strong customer relationships while maintaining high safety and reliability standards across our service network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability per company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Examine guards, bolts and safety devices on trucks and adjust as needed.
• Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and keep up with factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
