Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to service and repair customer fleets—via assigned trucks and equipment—while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves engine overhauls, component replacements, and thorough inspections to ensure safety and performance.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of Class 7/8 technician experience, with a valid CDL and driver’s license preferred. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current and valid driver's license with insurability.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
• Inspect and maintain safety devices and guards.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install parts and recondition as needed.
• Read job orders and plan work procedures.
• Operate and verify repaired vehicles meet specs.
• Develop positive relationships with customers.
