Job summary
Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly skilled Fuel System Core Diesel and SCR Technical Expert to join our Powertrain Engineering team. This role acts as the technical authority for diesel fuel system architecture, design, and integration across Ford's diesel engine platforms, collaborating with calibration, validation, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in HPCR fuel delivery, emissions compliance, and failures analysis to support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in diesel fuel system design, development, or integration in automotive/heavy‑duty.
- Deep knowledge of HPCR fuel systems, SCR/DPF/EGR interactions.
- Experience leading root cause analysis for complex issues.
- Strong cross‑functional communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead as technical expert for diesel fuel system components (SCR, injectors, filtration, low‑pressure supply).
- Own DFMEA and related quality documents for Diesel and SCR systems.
- Define architecture and specs for new diesel engines, balancing performance and emissions.
- Collaborate with calibration to optimize injection strategies for efficiency and drivability.
- Mentor junior engineers and represent Ford in industry forums and reviews.
- Support cost reduction while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
