Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a technical leader to guide energy, fuels, and decarbonization research. You will set strategies across cradle-to-grave LCAs, evaluate fuels, and serve as the primary technical authority on energy carriers and propulsion interactions.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Operations and Sustainability, translate findings into strategy, monitor regulatory shifts, and mentor a research team.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree with equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of automotive fuels, energy systems analysis, and/or industrial sustainability.
• 10+ years of experience with conventional and renewable fuels.
• 5+ years of experience with LCA methodology and software.
• 5+ years of familiarity with corporate emissions accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead research on conventional, renewable, and alternative fuels and their properties.
• Lead cradle-to-grave LCAs for vehicles, fuels, and battery supply chains.
• Develop models to evaluate economic viability of fuel pathways and energy infrastructure.
• Represent Ford in technical consortia and partnerships.
• Translate energy science and LCA findings into actionable technology strategy.
