Job summary

Hawaii Petroleum LLC in Hilo, HI is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, inspection and reliability of our petroleum transport fleet. You will perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, tanks, and support equipment, and prepare vehicles for DOT inspections.

This full-time role offers hands-on training, a safety-focused environment, and opportunities to advance toward fuel delivery positions.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with a high school diploma or GED.
• CDL Class B with HazMat/X endorsement; TWIC preferred (ability to obtain).
• Experience in shop, maintenance, fuel operations, logistics, trucking, or mechanical work a plus.
• Willingness to learn petroleum equipment, DOT requirements, and hazardous material safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on petroleum trucks, tractors, tank trailers, and support equipment.
• Inspect brakes, tires, lights, suspension, pumps, hoses, and related components.
• Troubleshoot minor diesel engine, electrical, and hydraulics issues.
• Prepare vehicles for DOT inspections and safety checks.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop environment and accurate maintenance records.
• Communicate issues and status updates to supervisors and drivers.
