Job summary

Sysco is seeking an apprentice Fleet Technician to assist higher level technicians in keeping trucks and equipment safe and reliable. You will learn to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic repairs on tractors, trailers, and ancillary fleet equipment.

Shift is 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday, with a shift differential and a sign-on bonus available. Prior truck tech training is preferred, and basic computer skills are required to use Sysco systems.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical training in medium/heavy-duty trucks preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Learn to perform FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles under supervision.
• Follow federal/state/local regulations for inspections and frequencies.
• Perform maintenance repairs under supervision to maximize safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
• Address driver vehicle inspection reports accurately and promptly.
• Diagnose malfunction causes and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Document all work on work orders using standard formats.
