Qualifications

  • 2-year technical school plus 1 year of experience or 3 years of fleet maintenance and repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Certifications: Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification, ASE certifications (preferred), 609 HVAC Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.

Skills

Knowledge of diagnostic software and vehicle systems
Moderate electrical and preventive maintenance skills
Basic welding and cutting skills
Understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations

Job description

Job Summary

To provide safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, as well as diagnosing and repairing as needed to prevent breakdowns, reduce vehicle downtime, and improve fleet reliability.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the fleet's lifecycle.
  2. Conduct FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment, in compliance with all legal and regulatory agencies.
  3. Perform quality preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize safety and reliability, addressing all driver-reported issues promptly.
  4. Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications across various systems including engines, transmissions, drive-lines, electrical, brake, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
  5. Document all work performed on work orders and learn to use Sysco's computer programs efficiently.
  6. Proficiently test electrical systems and perform electrical repairs and welding as needed.
Qualifications
Education

Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training; High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

2-year technical school plus 1 year of experience or 3 years of fleet maintenance and repair experience. Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands
