Clean Harbors in Dolton, IL is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join a safety-conscious team. The role focuses on repairs and preventative maintenance for the company fleet, with opportunities for wage growth after 90 days.

The position requires working in a team, maintaining safety standards, and performing routine servicing on heavy-duty vehicles. This is an on-site role with comprehensive benefits and company-provided tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Health and Safety is the #1 priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
• Complete daily checklist as required.
• Ensure equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
