Job summary

Diamond Coring Co Inc is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment at our Chicago, IL location.

Responsibilities include oil changes, brake work, inspections, diesel engine troubleshooting, and entering work into a service-ticket system. Must have a driver’s license and be able to work with field teams. This role supports safety-focused operations with ongoing training and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of diesel engines and electrical and hydraulic components.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Personal set of tools.
• Familiarity with concrete cutting equipment and heavy vehicles is a plus.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Flexible, coachable, affable demeanor.
• Active unrestricted driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Performing oil changes.
• Adjusting/replacing brakes; installing new parts.
• Ensuring inspections and tags are up-to-date.
• Troubleshooting diesel engines for maintenance and major repairs.
• Completing preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Entering and tracking work through a service ticket system.
• Filling in for other mechanics during vacations or overflow.
• Daily interaction with field, dispatch, and management staff and with dealers and external stakeholders.
