Job summary

Team Modern is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our diesel-powered fleet. This hands-on role supports our Distribution Division, ensuring uptime, safety, and DOT compliance across trucks, trailers, and equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex issues, manage parts, and document repairs while upholding Team Modern’s focus on safe operations and reliable service. This role offers strong teamwork and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a diesel or fleet mechanic.
CDL is a plus; valid driver's license required.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic readouts.

Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and box trucks.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across the fleet.
Carry out DOT inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Respond to breakdowns and road-service calls to minimize downtime.
Maintain repair records and logs in the fleet management system.
Order and manage parts inventory with vendors for timely sourcing.
Inspect vehicles before placing into service.
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
