Job summary

Priority Towing & Recovery, Inc in Randallstown, MD is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of diesel-powered trucks and fleet vehicles. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services, and use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, and electrical issues.

You will also maintain records in our fleet management system and ensure all work meets DOT regulations and safety standards, with opportunities

Qualifications

  • ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years diesel engine maintenance and repair in a fleet setting.
  • Proficient with modern diagnostic tools and electronic control systems, plus emissions systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks and fleet vehicles.

Job Description

Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles including trucks, buses, and specialty vehicles.

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services like oil changes, lubrication, and component replacements.

Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex engine, transmission, brake, and electrical issues.

Maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, and parts used for each vehicle in our fleet management system.

Ensure all work complies with DOT regulations and other safety standards.

Participate in emergency roadside assistance for fleet vehicles when necessary.

Collaborate with other mechanics and fleet managers to improve efficiency and vehicle uptime.

Qualifications
  • Certification: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with diesel engine maintenance and repair, with a focus on fleet management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with modern diagnostic tools, understanding of electronic control systems, and familiarity with diesel engine emissions systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift heavy parts, work in various weather conditions, and navigate around heavy equipment safely.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues quickly and devise effective repair strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with team members, fleet managers, and occasionally with drivers.
