Job summary

SRM Concrete in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain our mixer trucks, loaders and other heavy equipment. You will perform routine service, diagnose issues, and complete repairs to keep the fleet on the road.

We welcome both experienced diesel mechanics and entry-level candidates; on-the-job training is provided. A strong safety mindset, ability to work independently or with a team, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• Willingness to complete SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• CDL is preferred; valid driver’s license required.
• Entry-level candidates encouraged—we offer on-the-job training for those new to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work using company systems.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.
