Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in Vermont is seeking a diesel Class 8 vehicle mechanic to maintain and repair trucks and trailers, ensuring equipment remains in optimal operating condition. The role supports drivers, safety and fleet teams with diagnostics and preventive maintenance.

Schedule is 8 am to 5 pm with on-call hours. A high school diploma and at least two years of diesel mechanic experience are required; reading driver inspections, effective communication, and knowledge of DOT regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years' experience as a diesel Class 8 vehicle mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Responds to maintenance requests from drivers and supervisors.
• Maintains and repairs trucks and trailers per DOT specifications.
• Conducts periodic inspections and diagnoses problems to remove unsafe conditions.
• Performs annual vehicle inspections and admissions tests per state rules.
• Operates arc and MIG weld equipment and performs other duties as assigned.
