Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a diesel Class 8 vehicle mechanic to maintain and repair trucks and trailers for our dairy transportation fleet in Vermont. This full-time role requires performing DOT-compliant inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs to keep equipment in safe, reliable condition.

Hours are 8 am–5 pm with on-call duties; benefits include vacation, holidays, 401(k) with match, health/dental/vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and on-call premium where

Qualifications

• Must read and understand driver inspection reports.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Must have personal hand tools for heavy equipment work.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations is required.

Responsabilités

• Respond to maintenance requests from drivers and fleet staff.
• Maintain and repair trucks and trailers per DOT specs.
• Perform periodic inspections and diagnose problems.
• Conduct annual vehicle inspections and emissions tests as required.
• Operate arc and MIG weld equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned; full-time position.
