Job summary

AQUALIS is seeking a dependable, hands-on Diesel/Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles, vac trucks, trailers, and landscape equipment used by field operations teams. This role is primarily based in the shop with occasional field support to diagnose and repair equipment when needed.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of diesel maintenance experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional mechanical, fleet, equipment, automotive, or diesel maintenance experience.
Strong hands-on diesel mechanical experience, with troubleshooting and repairing trucks or commercial vehicles strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to independently perform routine diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs.
Experience with brakes, tires, suspension, cooling, starting/charging, and electrical systems.
High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade-school training is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on vac trucks, pickup trucks, and light-to-medium-duty service vehicles.
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, ties, steering, suspension, cooling, starting/charging, and electrical systems.
Inspect vehicles and equipment for developing mechanical or safety issues and complete repairs before failures occur when possible.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including labor, parts, repairs, and downtime.
Coordinate complex or specialized repairs with dealerships and outside vendors when necessary.
