Job summary

Linder Industrial Machinery Company in Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking a Field Technician/Diesel Mechanic to repair construction machines in shop and in the field, diagnose issues, order parts, write reports, and ensure warranty compliance. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and may require an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship.

Technicians are classified by experience and competence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience required.
• Technician classification is based on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Responsibilities

• Repairs equipment and components, including developing a repair plan and sequence.
• Determines necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Performs repairs properly and safely with quality assurance testing.
• Maintains reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service reports and work order closure.
• Communicates repair progress with supervisor as required.
• Retrieves and returns parts and materials through the parts ordering system.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area and vehicle.
• Follows company policies and procedures and observes safety guidelines.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology

Four years of apprenticeship experience
