Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in Winterville, NC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to safely maintain and repair a variety of complex rental equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

You will document work orders daily and may travel to customer sites for on-site service. The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical repair experience, a valid driver's license, and strong customer-service and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance when required; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
