Job summary

United Rentals is hiring a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform safe maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment. You will support training for junior techs and ensure complete work documentation daily. The role may require travel to customer sites and occasional equipment/parts deliveries.

We value strong mechanical aptitude, engine knowledge, and excellent communication with customers. A valid license and tool ownership are required, with focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Owns tools applicable to position.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Strong mechanical background and engine knowledge.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel).
• Train lower level technicians as needed.
• Document work orders accurately and timely.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance as required.
• Assist with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
