Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic 2 to perform preventive maintenance and diagnose equipment to minimize downtime. You will work on diesel and heavy equipment, prioritizing safety and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel/heavy equipment, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work independently. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany a full-time position.

Qualifications

3–5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment.
High school diploma or GED; trade school preferred.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
Ability to prioritize work assignments.
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Performs check-ins and safety inspections on diesel and heavy equipment.
Maintains mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engines; assists other mechanics with shop tasks.
Fabricates parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs.
Diagnoses simple mechanical problems.
May work on large or non-electric construction equipment.
Operates equipment as needed for repair and loading/unloading.
Maintains a safe work environment per safety standards.
