Job summary

Doggett Freightliner is seeking a Shop Technician in Austin, TX to service and repair equipment in the shop. You will follow the service manual for removal/installation and diagnose defects across engines and power systems.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Maintains good work habits and presents a favorable business image to customers.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret graphs.
• Must own proper tools to perform required repairs.

Responsibilities

• Remove and install components by following the service manual.
• Evaluate exchange items and compare price vs repair cost.
• Safely operate, inspect, and diagnose machines to identify defects.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered heavy equipment components.
• Document the work performed on equipment.
• Complete assignments and maintain required licensing.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
