Job summary

United Construction & Forestry is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial construction and forestry equipment. The role includes diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining records for parts and service charges.

The position requires owning own tools and strong customer service and communication skills. A Heavy Equipment license is preferred; high school diploma or GED is required. Training through John Deere University is provided.

Qualifications

• Must own and maintain their own tools (specialty tools provided by dealership).
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Excellent oral communication and written skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills are needed for this role.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Recondition and repair engines, transmissions, tractors and industrial equipment.
• Diagnose problems and determine required repairs.
• Keep records of parts costs and service charges for customers.
• Handle customer problems professionally and tactfully.
• Assist in directing work of helpers and trainees where needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and complete related duties.
• Develop skills in disassembly, assembly and repair of components and machines.
