The role requires adherence to safety standards, diagnosing issues, and performing maintenance while providing excellent customer support. A high school diploma is required, and tools are owned by the employee.

Qualifications

• Own and maintain own tools; dealership provides specialty tools
• Able to work varying schedule and respond to after-hour calls
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform maintenance tasks

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and regulations while performing tasks
• Recondition and repair engines, transmissions, tractors, and industrial equipment
• Diagnose problems and determine repairs needed
• Keep records of parts and service costs for customers

• Assist in directing work of helpers and trainees
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform related duties
• Develop skills in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components
• Complete reports and forms for assignments

Schedule: Monday – Friday 1st shift – Saturdays as needed

United Construction & Forestry is looking for a Service Technician. This individual will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial construction and forestry equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Recondition and repair all engines, transmission, tractors and industrial equipment assigned by the shop supervisor
• Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed
• Keep records required to establish cost of parts and service charges to the customer
• Handle customer problems both objectively and tactfully
• Assist in directing work of helpers or on the job trainees and provide instructions as required
• Maintain a clean work area and perform miscellaneous duties associated with the job
• Develop skills in disassembly, assembly and repair of components and machines
• Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Product Support Manager, Service Manager, Service Writer or Shop Foreman
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments
• Report any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customer
• Participate in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion

• Must own and maintain their own tools (specialty tools provided by dealership)

• Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions
• Able to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible to respond to after-hour calls

Preferred

• Heavy Equipment license

Education

The posted pay range reflects the full compensation range for this position. Starting pay is determined based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic market, and internal equity. Most new hires are placed within the lower to middle portion of the range, with opportunities for continued wage growth as they develop in the role.
