Job summary

Clean Harbors in Cleveland, Ohio seeks a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance. The role involves preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and ensuring equipment is properly parked and secured while adhering to DOT requirements.

You will support drivers, perform inspections, and execute tasks with minimal supervision in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required).
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following safe work practices and policies.
• Move company equipment safely around the yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
• Complete daily checklist as required.
• Ensure equipment is properly parked/secured per permit and DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
