Job summary

Wabtec’s Grove City Engine Remanufacturing facility seeks a Tear Down technician to disassemble diesel engines and recondition components for reassembly. You will work in a team, following SOPs, using high-pressure tools, cranes, and manual tools, with an emphasis on safety and quality.

Starting hourly rate is $23.10, with benefits information available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Candidates should be 18+, have a HS diploma or GED, and be willing to work flexible shifts including overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED or GED equivalent (or 3 years equivalent work experience).
• Ability to work on any shift, with overtime and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble diesel engines and components to the part level.
• Operate hydraulic tooling, hand tools, air tools and cutting tools with safety.
• Move parts using cranes or company vehicles and stock items.
• Follow SOPs and JSAs and collect quality data.
• Maintain housekeeping and perform preventative maintenance tasks.

Lean Manufacturing concepts

Basic hand tools

Automotive or mechanical experience

Overhead cranes & safe lifting

Forklift operation experience

Education
